US Navy Band Veterans Day concert at MLK Jr. Memorial Library

Friday’s concerts are family-friendly events, designed to connect members of the community to their Navy through the performance of diverse styles of music. The Cruisers popular music ensemble, featuring eight of the Navy’s most dynamic performers, will perform a versatile set of popular music including music by Dua Lipa, Stevie Wonder and Bruno Mars. The Navy Band brass ensemble, comprised of the brass and percussion sections of the Concert Band, will perform original compositions and orchestral transcriptions ranging from the Renaissance period to today. The program includes antiphonal music by Giovanni Gabrieli as well as a riveting work by Anthony Barfield, commemorating the COVID-19 pandemic and the Black Lives Matter protests.
