Members Jamal Reid, Khalil D’Jamaal, Boogieman Ghost, and Shamir of WOLM will perform new and classic material in the crew’s first “Live Mixtape” at the “Indiependents Day” event at the 14th Street Graffiti Museum in NW Washington, DC. The AMPHBNS are ready to dust off some classic gems and debut new music, featuring six special guest performers across the DMV Hip-Hop scene! The event crescendos with a special screening of the crew’s recently released, groundbreaking mini-documentary, “Fresh Convos: A DC Hip-Hop Oral History”

“Indiependents Day” is a new event for the DMV area focused on offering larger-scale performance platforms for local Hip-Hop talent. The region’s best DJs and MCs will be gathering for Indiependents Day on one of the hottest days of the year in the city in one of its most revered institutions, the 14th Street Graffiti Museum.

“I am so excited to get back on stage in DC with this new energy,” Jamal said. “between the mini-doc and our album releases, we were anxious to bring some physical energy to our scene again. Our first Live Mixtape is a perfect way to blend our music with acts we love and respect from our scene.”

Jamal Reid, Khalil D’Jamaal, Boogieman Ghost, and Shamir of the AMPHBNS will perform new and classic material with several friends in the AMPHBNS’ first Live Mixtape on Sunday, July 3 at 4:00 pm at the 14th Street Graffiti Museum at 4632 14th St., NW, Washington, DC, 20011.

Featured acts Sub-Z, formerly of Opus Akoben, The Meridians of the legendary Infinite Loop crew, Prowess the Testament, one of the region’s most tenacious women on the mic; the enigmatic Watusi the Cultleader, mysterious duo WOLM, and WAMMY-nominee Ardamus are all set to perform in the AMPHBNS’ first live mixtape curated by DJ OH-J Freshhh! DJ RBI and Slimkat78 will be serving sounds throughout the evening.

All of this talent leads up to a special screening of "Fresh Convos: A DC Hip Hop Oral History." The AMPHBNS documentary reflecting upon the DC Hip Hop scene through their Fresh Convos podcast hosted by Joey Too Fresh. This groundbreaking documentary composed of conversations with poets and lyricists of the early DC Hip Hop era was made possible through funding from DC Oral History Collaborative, DC Public Library, and Humanities DC.
