This year, don’t disappoint dad with a tie, card or a grill accessory. Instead, bring him to Busboys & Poets 14th & V for a fun and hilarious evening of jokes that will have you laughing, groaning, and finding humor in the unexpected.
Headlining the weekend is local comedian and author Allan Sidley. Despite growing up without a dad, he mastered the “dad joke” and wrote Daddy Issues: A Fatherless Comedian’s Original Jokes, a #1 new release on Amazon.
Join Allan and hilarious comedians from all over the DMV. This show is for dads, those with their own daddy issues, or simply love jokes.

ABOUT THE COMICS
Headliner Allan Sidley: A comedian, author, actor, hip hop improviser, and producer, Allan Sidley is a jack of all trades and has performed in festivals, clubs, and colleges across the country. Allan got his comedy start at a young age, riffing on his Mom's issues at the dinner table. Many years later he founded the Tysons Comedy Cellar, where he refined his comedy chops by producing hundreds of comedy shows and teaching stand-up classes.
Allan's humor is dry, and a little wet from perspiration, usually. Poking fun at real subjects like his family, religion, politics, and pokémon, his highly relatable material includes jokes and one liners that are edgy, provocative, corny, genius, and stupid. He loves sprinkling in top notch word play much to his audience's delight and dismay.
Allan has hosted clean shows and corporate comedy gigs for Deloitte, the military, and non profit agencies, but he prefers the intimacy of a club. Allan has recently headlined Jammin Java, Church of Satire Comedy Club, Highwood Theater, and has opened at Laugh Index Festival (2017, 2018, 2019). He was a member of the Unkosher Comedy Tour (DC 2018 & 2019) and has appeared on TV (TLC, Fox 5, FPA.) Even though he lost his Dad at a young age, Allan has mastered the “dad joke” and wrote an entire book of them. Featuring 187 pages of original jokes, Daddy Issues was a #1 new release on Amazon. After not being on stage at all during the pandemic, Allan recorded an hour-long comedy special on Father's Day 2021. He was seen on Fox 5 talking about his book, comedy, and show taping. Special release coming soon.
With Yasmin Elhady: Yasmin Elhady is a comedian & attorney who has toured all over the US & UK. She’s performed at The Kennedy Center and is featured on NBC’s True Story with Ed Helms and Randall Park streaming on Peacock. You can catch her stand up comedy on TikTok (100k+ followers) and her comedic skits on IG (@yasminelhahahady). You can catch her for TEDx on June 9th. She was just named a “Yes, And…Laughter Lab” finalist for 2022 for her one-hour comedy special.
And Ryan Neser: Ryan was born in Baltimore, and raised all over Maryland. His comedy comes from his real life experiences, growing up in a broken home, and a misguided sex life. He's opened for Charlie Murphy, Bert Kreischer, Godfrey, Nick Thune, Dana Gould, and many more. He's also a regular at Magoobys, Baltimore Comedy Factory, DC Improv, Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse, and UCB.
Hosted by Ralph Cooper: Ralph started doing comedy back in 2005 because his mother told him he was funny, but got serious in 2010 because his wife said they needed rent. Ralph provides a candid and intelligent approach towards comedy. He gives an intimate look into his life experiences from growing up overseas to college life to raising kids. Ralph has a raw sharp sense of humor that appeals to a broad audience. Ralph has performed throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and Canada at venues such as DC Improv (DC), Eastville Comedy Club (NY), Betty’s (Toronto). He has also been featured on television, radio and internet broadcasts, including Capitol Comedy Connection and National Public Radio.
