SWEDISH HOLIDAY MARKET 2019 Holiday Shoppers and Visitors will find NORDIC Vendors and Artists selling their arts & crafts, including holiday ornaments, decorations, textiles, Swedish glass, gifts, books, packaged food, Glögg, candy and more!
Event Details
This is by far the largest one-day event taking place at House of Sweden for the year. More than 1,500 people will attend the market during the day and watch the Lucia procession following the market at 5pm. Whether you want to buy someone a holiday gift or just eat Scandinavian treats -this is the Holiday Market!
In addition to all our vendors this year; we will again serve Swedish FIKA & Glögg. Also, Swedish (“smörgås"/”macka") sandwich with meatballs, lax, or herring will be available.
10AM to 4:30PM: SHOPPERS STROLL MARKET
5PM: SWEDISH LUCIA PROCESSION OUTSIDE BUILDING
EARLY BIRD TICKETS sold up to November 22.
We will close on-line ticket sales end of November.
Tickets at the door will be $10.
NO ACCESS TO MARKET AFTER 4.30PM.
Need to clear holiday shoppers from the building so the Lucia procession can come through.
Assortments of Swedish Sandwiches (“smörgås”) with "lax"/salmon, "sill"/herring, "köttbullar"/meatballs från local Washington DC NORDIC caterer CHEF MIKKO will be available!
Silent Auction with fantastic items!
"Jultomte"/Santa Claus and Face painting!
Swedish FIKA* (coffee, gingersnaps, mini cinnamon roll) * Note, one(1) FIKA & one (1) cup of Glögg is included with each Holiday Market paid ticket
Important To Remember,
EARLY BIRD TICKETS are sold from October 31 - November 22 for $6 NO Eventbrite Fees (Processing & Service Fees) *note; these are Eventbrite fees not fees of the organizers
REGULAR TICKETS are sold from November 22 for $6 + Eventbrite fees
FREE Tickets are for children under 10
Tickets at the door are $10
Access to event is on "first come basis"
ALL PAID tickets (via Eventbrite or at the door) includes Glögg & Fika
NO strollers are allowed inside building!
EVERYONE must go through the metal detector!
