Description

In France, people commemorate their dead on the 1st of November, locally known as “Toussaint” - which is the contraction of “Tous Les Saints”, meaning “All the Saints” in English.

Event Details

The night between the 31st of October and Toussaint’s day is Halloween night and children dressed as ghosts, skeletons, witches, Frankenstein monsters, vampires or mummies put into action a French adaptation of the American trick or treat: “des bonbons ou des farces” (candies or pranks). Adults party the night away.

You are invited to this French Holiday and join us if you dare. It is our way of saying thanks to all of our people without pulling pranks. Don't be lame, don’t be naughty, creep or crawl to our party! And don’t forget, scare up a fright costume is a must on this night. Calling all Goblins, Ghosts, and Freaks of the night. You can come for the night, you can come for a flash. But come to have fun at our bash!

France is the origin of Masquerade Balls and what is A Ball celebrating the day of the dead without a Masquerade? Put your snazzy masquerades on to put an icing on the cake.

We will fly you over on a broom or float you like a ghost to France without leaving DC and meet you at the fusion point of American and French cultures.

DRESS CODE: We recommend wearing your spookiest, scariest, or most creative costume! There will be costume prizes for the most festively dressed attendees.

SALSA DANCING: At the later part of the night we will give a Salsa lesson and decorate the night with French Latino hits.
