Nearly half of DC students travel outside of their immediate neighborhood to go to school. In a city with no school bus system, that means we need reliable, safe and accesible public transit options that get every student to school on time. We're not there yet.
DECC has been researching and vetting a slate of potential solutions that would immediately impact how students get to school all across DC. Join us for our September meeting to learn more about this campaign, to help us identify who has the power to enact these solutions, and to organize with parents, students, school staff and community members to move the needle on student transportation this fall.
